P. José Rovina, cmf, gave a talk on ‘The Religious Vows Today: their theoligical meaning and living in the Church in today’s world. He presented consecrated life inside the Church as an ‘exaggerated’ Christian life, therefore a life overflows with gratitude. We follow Christ with a universal love (celibacy), in simplicity and solidarity (poverty), being available and rendering service (obedience).
Sr. Linda Lizada, della Congregazione del Cenacolo, gave us her experience on The Religious Vows today in a Feminine Perspective.Ri-appropriating the vision of Magdalene, we listen today what is important to us and ‘re-write our story’ with a language that is comprehensive and legible to all. The world today needs ‘good news’ therefore a ‘good story’ of our charism. Sr. Linda pointed out some ways to accomplish that: critical discernment, itinerancy (being pilgrims), formation to hospitality (welcoming), and contemplative friendship.

(7 marzo) P. Augusto Boscardin, forer General of the Canossian Fathers, made a home-coming presentation to the Chapter Sisters on ‘The Religious Vows Today: Charismatic Level’, as Magdalene described in the Rules. He recalled also the description of Magdalene by Margaret Rosmini to her brother Antonio. This becomes our ‘challenge’ to live like her in our communities:

She is greater in holiness than what I used to think. She has a mood always steady, always joyful. She is very sweet with everybody, with all she has a charity that surprises and a deep humility… Here she is loved by everybody and from what I hear, it is the same everywhere she goes, and one cannot help it.’ (1 March 1820).

  1. Dear Capitolo sisters,
We are following you daily and praying, we see that the chapter is entering an important phase which we have been eagerly waiting for. As a community we pray that the chapter members are imbued with the Holy Spirit and open to the Spirit, so that we move with the times with our Canossian Charism. That we really search for the essentials, not only the exterior things,as habit etc but the Spirit of Magdalene alive today in our mission and specially our communities, a spirit that reawakens in us our missionary zeal to make Christ known and loved.
    El Obeid
